Job summary

First Class Security is seeking a professional Shared Patrol Security Officer to provide patrol coverage for multiple retail and commercial properties within a designated service area in Winston-Salem, NC. The officer will conduct scheduled and random patrols, ensure the safety of tenants, employees, and visitors, and deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity.

The role requires overnight availability, ability to work independently, and strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Must possess or be eligible for a valid security license (as required by local jurisdiction).
• Ability to stand, walk, and drive for extended periods and work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular vehicle and foot patrols across assigned client properties, including retail centers, office buildings, and parking areas.
• Check doors, gates, and access points to ensure they are properly secured.
• Observe and report any suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations.
• Respond to alarms, disturbances, or calls for service in a timely and professional manner.
• Complete detailed patrol and incident reports through the company’s reporting system after each visit.
• Provide a visible and professional security presence to deter criminal activity.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, property management, and law enforcement when necessary.
• Maintain strong situational awareness and take initiative to resolve minor issues before they escalat.
