Job summary

Avalon Health Care Group is hiring for a Security/Maintenance role at the E. Roy Stone, Jr. Veterans Pavilion in Columbia, SC. You will patrol the facility, monitor entrances, respond to alarms, and help maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.

The position runs 7pm-7am with every other weekend and shifts may include overtime. Candidates should be able to follow HIPAA policies, provide assistance, and work in a fast-paced nursing home setting.

Qualifications

• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
• Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property.
• Respond to alarms and investigate situations.
• Maintain building grounds in a safe condition.

Responsibilities

• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
• Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property.
• Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area.
• Secure exits, doors and windows after end of operations.
• Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.
• Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation.
• Provide assistance to people in need.
• Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities.
• Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.
• Maintain Building grounds in a safe, workable condition.
