Job summary

Harvard Protection Services is seeking Security Officers to provide professional concierge and life-safety services in a part-time weekend shift at our Boston location. Officers will greet visitors, monitor entrances, patrol premises, and respond to incidents to protect people and property.

The role emphasizes customer-focused security, professional appearance, and reliable communication to support a safe, responsive environment for tenants and clients.

Qualifications

• Reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication and neat, professional appearance.
• Ability to write routine log entries and incident reporting.
• Experience in contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional concierge services to customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility / building assigned.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious and unsafe activity.
• Be familiar with incoming/outgoing traffic and know customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, guests in a professional manner.
• Answer phones in a professional manner.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Know facility policies and procedures; enforce them within role limits.
• Perform required patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to deter theft and ensure proper removal of property.
• Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
