Job summary

Meijer in Mishawaka, IN is seeking a store leadership role to oversee day-to-day operations and mentor team members. You will staff, hire, and train associates, drive sales, and maintain store standards while focusing on exceptional customer service and efficient operations.

The position requires 2–3 years retail experience and at least 1 year of management, with rotations through meat, bakery, produce and deli. Strong communication, conflict resolution and multitasking skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs for team members and involvement in promotion decisions.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentors and coaches the team to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensures the team is thoroughly trained and has completed required training.
• Spends majority of time within the store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
