Job summary

Jacksons Food Stores in Portland, OR is hiring an Overnight Cashier for a part-time night shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. You will handle transactions, keep the store clean, and help create a welcoming atmosphere for guests during late hours.

Salary is $17.50–$19.00 per hour with perks such as same-day pay, discounts, profit sharing, and opportunities for advancement. Prior cashier experience is a plus, and eligibility to sell restricted products must be met where applicable.

Shift: part-time 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

• Overnight Shift Differential: To be eligible, you must work at least 4 hours between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greet every customer with a smile, thank them for their business, and invite them back.
• Provide fast, friendly, and accurate checkout service.
• Apply discounts and promotions as applicable while following all company policies and laws related to restricted sales (alcohol, tobacco, etc.).
• Maintain a clean and organized store, inside and out.
• Stock and rotate shelves, coolers, and displays properly.
• Assist with additional store duties as needed.

• A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

• Prior retail or foodservice cashiering experience is a plus.

• Must meet legal age requirements to sell regulated products (alcohol and tobacco). NV Only – Must be of legal age to work around slot machines.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and listen.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
• Work safely in work conditions that include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
