Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking a Residential Support Worker for Gilead’s Old Saybrook area adolescent residential program, working Sundays to Wednesdays from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM (32 hours per week).

This awake overnight role provides coaching, mentoring, advocacy, and supportive services for teens with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. You will assist with meals, chores, money management, and daily living skills while coordinating transportation for treatment

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance; reliable use of personal vehicle.
• Experience in mental health or direct-care field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Understanding needs of clients experiencing severe and prolonged mental health and substance abuse disorders through training and education.
• Assisting with meal preparation, household chores, shopping, cleaning, laundry, and money management, in teaching daily living skills.
• Providing recovery-oriented services with dignity, respect, and inclusion of family and other natural supports.
• Exchanging information from one shift to another via required reporting documentation and communication, both electronic and paper.
• Assisting with coordination and provision of transportation to treatment, community and social outings, and other essential appointments.
• Working with the treatment team to support clients’ mental health, providing education and training regarding symptom management, and assessing for risks as necessary.
• Acting with compassion, integrity, and ethics.
