Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Monitor residents overnight according to individual plans and needs.
  • Respond to any needs or situations that arise during the night.
  • Complete household duties and other tasks while residents are sleeping.
  • Assist residents with morning routines and prepare them for the day ahead.
  • Provide personal care assistance when needed.
  • Prepare breakfast and help with morning routines.
  • Provide transportation to day programs or activities when necessary.
  • Communicate with evening and morning staff to promote continuity of care.

Overnight Residential Instructor

$18.50/hour

STAR, Inc. is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join our residential team as Overnight Residential Instructors. In this role, you will support adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities during overnight hours and help ensure they remain safe, comfortable, and supported in their homes.

What You'll Do

As an Overnight Residential Instructor, you will provide support throughout the overnight hours and into the morning. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and checking on residents throughout the overnight shift according to their individual plans and needs.
  • Responding appropriately to any needs or situations that arise during the night.
  • Completing household duties and other assigned tasks while residents are sleeping.
  • Assisting residents with their morning routines and preparing them for the day ahead.
  • Providing personal care assistance when needed.
  • Preparing breakfast and helping with morning household routines.
  • Providing transportation to day programs or other activities when necessary.
  • Communicating and working closely with evening and morning staff to promote consistency and continuity of care.

The work you do each night plays an important role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming home for the individuals we support. Even the smallest moments of assistance can have a meaningful impact.

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will have:

Schedule

Awake overnight shifts generally run from approximately 11:00 PM to 9:00 AM. Employees typically work 3–4 shifts per week, including every other weekend.
