Job summary

New Jersey Association On Correction Inc is seeking a Residential Program Assistant to support the operation of a state inmate work release program. Responsibilities include supervising residents, ensuring safety, and handling administrative tasks to aid transition back to the community.

Qualified candidates will have a HS diploma or GED (Bachelor’s preferred), strong written/verbal communication, and prior human services experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Relevant work experience with human service clients.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Computer literate with Windows and Microsoft Office; MIS system experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise residents and program activities within the residence.
• Account for residents in and outside of the facility in real time.
• Ensure safety and security of residents and staff in the facility.
• Conduct facility searches to prevent contraband entry.
• Provide supervision of residents, visitors, facility and perimeter.
• Transport and escort clients to medical appointments, interviews, and sites as needed.
• Document phone and resident contacts in logs for accountability.
• Monitor daily maintenance of program vehicle and update travel logs.
