Qualifications

  • 1 year prior housekeeping experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Arms security system nightly and respond to emergencies.
  • Assist residents with urgent care issues and triage as needed.
  • Enforce house rules and maintain nightly headcounts.
  • Update daily logs and agency records.
  • Clean and prepare rooms for new move-ins; remake beds and provide fresh linens.
  • Daily cleaning duties: vacuum, sanitize, mop, trash and recycling.
  • Maintain lobby cleanliness and sort donations.
  • Follow HIPAA and mandated reporting procedures; use varied communications.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring resident safety and maintaining overall cleanliness of St. Margaret’s Shelter.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/responsibilities listed below. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of this job.

  • Ensure that the security system is armed.
  • Assist residents with urgent care issues and case management triaging as needed.
  • Ensure that house rules are followed.
  • Ensure accurate nightly headcount of residents.
  • Update and maintain daily logs and agency records as required.
  • Provide leadership and appropriate response in case of an emergency.
  • Assists cleaning and preparing all SMS resident rooms when a family moves out in preparation for the new move in. This includes sanitizing, vacuuming, dusting, removal and storage of remaining items, and washing all remaining linens. Once clean, this person is responsible for re-making all beds and preparing the bathroom with fresh linens and towels, and notifying staff when room is ready for move-in.
  • Daily cleaning duties may include Vacuuming, trash removal, sanitizing, laundering, mopping, sweeping, recycling, window washing.
  • Extensive nightly cleaning of kitchen area to ensure sanitary conditions.
  • Manage the cleanliness of the lobby, including shuttling donations downstairs to the storage areas for sorting.
  • Cleaning may be located in all public areas of the building, and outside when weather permits.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed.
  • Uses appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of CCEW client protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  • Will regularly utilize all forms of communication (email, text, phone, etc.) and database practices necessary for this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • As a mandated reporter, follows all procedures outlined in agency policies and procedures to report to the proper agency when there is suspicion and/or confirmation that a child or adult has been a victim of abuse or neglect.
  • Adhere to the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic Doctrine.
  • Perform related functions necessary to support the mission and core values of Catholic Charities.

Education/Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least one (1) year prior experience in all aspects housekeeping; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates/Licenses: To perform this job successfully, no certifications are required. Successfully pass background check applicable to position.

Physical Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:

Workplace Environmental Conditions

While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will be:
