Job summary

Marian House in Baltimore, MD is seeking a frontline Peer Recovery Specialist to provide dependable shift coverage within a safe, structured, recovery-focused home. You will supervise residents, help with daily routines, document activities, and ensure adherence to program expectations during overnight and weekend shifts.

The role requires certification, strong interpersonal skills, and familiarity with substance use disorders and trauma; previous residential setting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Peer Recovery Specialist certification strongly preferred.
• Ability to engage clients in a supportive but structured manner.
• Experience and knowledge relating to substance use disorders, mental health, and trauma strongly preferred.
• High school diploma preferred.
• One to two years of experience in residential setting preferred.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Background and ability to understand, appreciate, and carry out the Marian House mission; interpersonal skills to engage staff and volunteers in doing same.

Responsibilities

• Provide shift coverage and oversight of resident activities while maintaining a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment.
• Support residents through daily guidance, accountability, orientation, household responsibilities, and adherence to program expectations.
• Complete operational responsibilities including shift documentation, visitor supervision, meal oversight, drug/alcohol screenings, and assistance with household supplies and maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of shared living spaces, including the kitchen and bathrooms.
