Job summary

Nexus Family Recovery Center, a Dallas-based nonprofit, seeks a Recovery Advocate to provide encouragement and guidance to individuals in treatment. This full-time role focuses on promoting recovery, maintaining a safe environment, and helping clients develop skills for long-term sobriety.

Staff support and care for children are part of daily operations. The position emphasizes crisis intervention, routine documentation, and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in social services, psychology, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working in behavioral health or substance abuse treatment preferred.
• Personal recovery experience may be considered depending on program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor client activities and supervise clients and/or children to ensure adherence to facility rules and schedules.
• Assist clients with daily living activities and structured programming.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate recovery-focused groups or meetings when appropriate.
• Observe and document client behavior, progress, and any concerns in accordance with agency policies.
• Conduct routine room checks and safety checks to maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
• Provide crisis intervention and notify clinical staff of any concerns immediately.
• Provide safe, timely, and supervised transportation of clients to offsite activities or appointments as needed.
• Document notes and other information in systems including CMBHS and Welligent.

Education
