Actalent is seeking a QA Supervisor for overnight shifts at Central Islip, NY, supervising QA technicians and ensuring compliance with USDA/FDA standards and customer requirements. The role drives continuous improvement, CAPA, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Sanitation, and Supply Chain.

The ideal candidate has a BS in a scientific field, 35+ years in food safety/quality, and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent hands-on experience in food manufacturing quality.
• 35+ years of experience in food safety/quality within a USDA manufacturing environment.
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise QA technicians and hourly quality staff.
• Oversee onboarding, training, and development of QA personnel.
• Allocate resources and manage workflows to meet goals.
• Ensure food safety training across cross‑functional teams.
• Support implementation of food safety programs and compliance.
• Oversee HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and prerequisite programs.
• Review production records and perform pre‑shipment checks.
• Lead investigations into customer complaints and CAPA.
• Collaborate with sanitation to verify cleaning effectiveness.
