Job summary

St. Joseph Institute for Addiction is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide nursing care on an assigned unit, supervising LPNs and CNAs, and developing individualized care plans.

Responsibilities include ongoing assessment, documentation, medication administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety. The role requires an active RN license, CPR and de-escalation training, and experience in psychiatric settings.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years’ nursing experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and administration procedures.
• Ability to apply nursing standards in an acute psychiatric setting.
• Valid RN license; compact state license where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor physical and behavioral health needs of clients.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans and maintain medical records.
• Administer medications with two client identifiers and document appropriately.
• Educate clients and families about medications and care.
• Coordinate with treatment team and communicate changes promptly.
• Provide hand-off reports and participate in unit activities.
