Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Manchester, CT is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the inpatient Pharmacy Department. Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, you will perform unit dose dispensing, sterile and nonsterile compounding, and obtain medication histories in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities include operating automated dispensing systems, preparing orders, maintaining inventory, and assisting with education and discharge prescriptions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One or more years experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.
• Hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
• Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with CT DCP within 30 days of hire.
• Pharmacy Technician national certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
• Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
• Repackages bulk medications.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Assists with patient and staff education, resident/student training, peer interviewing and coaching, process improvement, and discharge prescriptions.
• Positively interacts with patients and other hospital guests to enhance the quality of service.

Manchester Memorial is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for our inpatient Pharmacy Department. All interested candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply. Under the supervision and direction of the Pharmacist, our Pharmacy Technicians assist in performing pharmaceutical functions which include unit dose dispensing, sterile and nonsterile compound preparation, and obtaining medication histories in our Emergency Department.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma required or equivalent.

Experience

One or more years experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.

Hospital Pharmacy experience; strongly preferred

License And Certification

Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the CT Department of Consumer protection within 30 days of hire.

Pharmacy Technician national certification strongly preferred
