Job summary

Allied Universal in Durham, NC is seeking an unarmed Security Officer to patrol and protect client sites across industries such as chemical/petrochemical. You will maintain a visible presence, follow site procedures, and respond calmly to incidents while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, process areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
• Report observed hazards, damaged barriers, unauthorized access attempts, and other security-related concerns to site leadership and/or appropriate emergency personnel.
