Job summary

Impact Life in Seaford, Delaware is seeking a part-time Peer Support Specialist to assist residents in navigating behavioral health systems, linking them to resources, and fostering self-care and recovery.

You will conduct support meetings, respond to emergencies as needed, collaborate with the care team, and provide culturally appropriate education. Overnight weekend shifts are required, with shift differential.

Qualifications

• Two years proven work experience as a Peer Support Specialist or in Behavioral Health.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license throughout employment.
• Willingness to work overnight/weekends/holidays.
• Relevant training/certifications as a Peer Support Specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrange medical appointments, therapy sessions, support groups, and other resources for clients.
• Monitor residents' behavior, schedule, medication, and activities.
• Report unusual behavior, conflicts, or recovery deviations to professionals.
• Liaise with family and medical professionals regularly.
• Provide culturally appropriate recovery education and support.
• Refer and link clients to appropriate services within the agency and community.
• Collaborate with the care team to develop individualized plans.
• Provide care non-judgmentally, respecting diversity, autonomy and rights.
