UVA Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pediatric Surgical Observation to provide overnight postoperative care for pediatric patients in a six-bed unit adjacent to the Pediatric PACU. The role emphasizes clinical judgment, pediatric assessment, and independent night work.

Responsibilities include monitoring recovery, pain control, hydration, vital signs, and delivering family-centered education while coordinating with the broader pediatric surgery team.

Qualificações

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN within 5 years.
• 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
• License to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia; BLS required.

Responsabilidades

• Provide postoperative nursing care for pediatric surgical patients.
• Monitor recovery, pain control, airway stability, hydration, and vitals.
• Deliver family-centered education and reassurance during overnight recovery.
• Possibility to work across Pre-op and Post-op units depending on shift.
• Collaborate with PACU staff, anesthesia, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Assist safe, timely next-day discharge and reinforce care plans.
