Overnight Operations Lead Supervisor (Transportation)

Job Summary:

The Overnight Operations Lead Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting the Columbia office's overnight success. This role is responsible for managing overnight parking lot operations, leading a diverse team, and operating equipment when needed. The Lead Supervisor must have strong leadership and office management skills and be able to perform field duties such as driving sweeper trucks and performing safety inspections. This position requires a flexible, hands-on leader who can thrive in both the field and office environments.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Ensure success of all overnight non-CDL and CDL teams
2. Create weekly/monthly schedules and daily parking lot routes
3. Submit safety alerts or notifications within required time limits
4. Conduct quality assurance and client research
5. Be physically in the field 25-50% of the time depending on the season
6. Operate equipment such as Air Sweeper, Mechanical Broom Sweeper, and Dump Truck to remove debris, including broken pavement, asphalt, concrete millings, mud, and construction materials or parking lot debris caused by seasonal/weather changes
7. Perform required inspections of equipment prior to operation
8. Conduct minor mechanical checks of trucks and equipment
9. Wear proper and required PPE
10. Review and understand scheduled routes
11. Be proactive and ask questions if routes are unclear
12. Ensure the safe operation of all equipment
13. Complete assigned jobs within the designated time
14. Maintain quality of work
15. Track completed tasks and routes (sweep validation per procedures)
16. Report equipment failures within 8 hours and any near misses, accidents, or injuries immediately to management
17. Verify all team members fill trucks up when returning to the shop at the end of their shift
18. Perform all other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• CDL preferred
• Strong office skills
• Prior leadership experience
• High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid Driver's license required
• Work outdoors in variable and adverse weather conditions
• Exposure to noise, vibrations, fumes, grease, oil, and chemicals
• Active physical work involving lifting (50+ lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, walking, standing, and operating equipment for extended periods
• Focus adjustment, depth perception, and good vision (near and distant)
• Use of safety equipment such as ear and eye protection
• Regular use of hands to handle objects and operate controls
• Physically in the field 25-50% of the time depending on the season
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers
• DOT Physical required (paid for by the company)
