Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare's MRI department seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to perform exams under physician orders, ensuring accurate protocols and patient safety. You will verify orders, screen for contraindications, administer contrast when prescribed, and support radiologists with high-quality imaging in a busy in-person setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Currently certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Possesses MR certification (ARRT) (MRI Tech II only) or MR certification within 36 months of start date (MRI Tech I only).
• Maintains minimum CEU credits as mandated by the ARRT.
• Possesses current CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI exams under the order of a licensed medical practitioner.
• Reviews and verifies MRI orders, radiologist protocols, and patient identification per hospital policy.
• Assesses patient risk via interviews and chart review; alerts clinicians to contraindications.
• Ensures patient is prepared and contrast administration protocols are completed.
• Documents clinical information in the patient’s electronic chart and performs required order entry/modification.
• Operates PACS and image management systems; assists radiologists during MRI procedures as needed.
• Maintains equipment and room in proper working condition and participates in safety procedures.
