Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City is seeking an Overnight Medical Laboratory Assistant to join the Specimen Processing Lab. This per diem role includes data entry, specimen preparation, and maintaining organized records in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with 1–2 years of experience and strong Word/Excel skills. It is a 12 am–8 am shift and 15 hours per week, onsite in NYC.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED + 1-2 years of confirmed experience.
• Strong digital literacy in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions and order entry orders to verify the accuracy of corresponding specimens, and enter required data into the computer
• Prepare specimens for testing or send out to another laboratory for testing using the laboratory computer system
• Maintain a complete, accurate, and organized file system, filing addition/correction sheets, requisitions, and reference laboratories' results according to laboratory guidelines
• Maintain an organized and secure supply area and reagent storage area to ensure easy access to reagents, chemicals, and supplies
• Contribute to the upkeep and safety of the laboratory and assure a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area
