Job summary

Hickory Treatment Centers is seeking a Medication Technician to support adult clients with substance use and behavioral health concerns. This full-time overnight role reports to the Director of Nursing and supports safe medication administration and documentation.

Responsibilities include monitoring client health, collecting specimens, maintaining supplies, and ensuring HIPAA compliance. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to work in a structured, client-centered

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) program through an accredited nursing school or current EMT/Paramedic certification.
• Current EMT or Paramedic certification is accepted.
• Prior Medication Aide experience preferred (2+ years).
• Experience in hospital, behavioral health, or substance use treatment settings is preferred.
• Ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Set up and administer medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Document medication administration accurately in the client’s medical record.
• Monitor client health and respond to changes under nursing direction.
• Maintain medication carts and ensure proper labeling and storage.
