Job summary

Veterans Recovery Resources is seeking a dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide PRN nursing coverage in our residential treatment and medically managed detoxification facility. The LPN will monitor clients, administer medications, complete nursing assessments, and respond to changes in client condition.

This role requires independence during shifts, strong communication with the nursing and treatment teams, and adherence to HIPAA and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Current Alabama LPN license.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Ability to work independently and make clinical observations.
• Ability to document care and med administration accurately.
• Willingness to cover 12-hour PRN shifts overnight.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in residential and detox settings.
• Monitor withdrawal signs and clinical changes.
• Take vital signs and document observations.
• Administer medications per orders and policies.
• Document nursing assessments and progress notes.
• Communicate changes to providers and leadership.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Maintain medication security and records.
• Respond to medical emergencies and activate EMS when needed.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and HIPAA compliance.
