Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work overnight in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department in Downtown Seattle, WA.

LVT Pay: $25.60 - $49.15 / hour

Sign-on Bonus: $2,500 for qualified candidates!

This location covers the cost of parking downtown and bus passes.

Schedule: Overnight shift either 3 12-hour shifts or 4 10-hour shifts.

Pay Band: This is a starting point, dependent on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system.

We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends, based on a 4-hour minimum. Examples include:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of vital signs and alert veterinarians to abnormalities.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math, administer medications appropriately.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train colleagues.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
