Job summary

The Hospital for Veterinary Surgery in New York, NY is seeking a licensed Overnight Veterinary Technician to join our inpatient care team. This 12-hour overnight position runs 7pm–7am, with Sunday shifts required; part-time or full-time available.

You will work with our overnight veterinarian and veterinary assistant to care for post-operative patients, monitor recovery, and manage essential line care. NY State licensure is required.

Qualifications

• New York State licensure as a Veterinary Technician is required.
• Experience with practice management software (ezyVet) preferred.
• Ability to work overnight, with 12-hour shifts and Sunday coverage.

Overnight Licensed Veterinary Technician

Who We Are:

The Hospital for Veterinary Surgery (HVS), the first surgery-exclusive veterinary hospital in New York City, is seeking to further build our team for inpatient care with the addition of a licensed overnight Technician/Technologist. We are looking for an LVT to cover 12-hour (7pm-7am) overnight shifts on either a part-time or full-time basis. Sunday shift (7pm Sunday to 7am Monday) is required as part of the available schedule.

We are a collaborative team of passionate veterinary professionals, practicing in a clinician-designed, 10,000 square foot facility. The practice of modern medicine in a state of the art and highly personalized environment is the primary goal for our patients and clients. This role is responsible for working in conjunction with our overnight veterinarian and veterinary assistant to provide exceptional care to post‑op patients.

What You’ll Do:

• Monitoring patient recovery, ensuring our standard of client and patient experience is met
• Placing and maintaining intravenous, central, arterial, and urinary catheters
• Maintaining feeding tubes and chest tubes
• Monitoring patients requiring oxygen supplementation and transfusions
• Patient care inclusive of pre and post outpatient surgical care- Obtaining blood samples, removing sutures, placing bandages

• Experience with practice management software (ezyVet is our in-house system)
