Job summary

Pride Health is seeking an Overnight Specimen Processor/Lab Assistant to support a medical facility in Tampa, FL. This is a 3-month assignment with potential extension or conversion, and the role offers a night shift with pay at $20.60/hr on W2, based on experience and education.

Responsibilities include receiving specimens, basic instrument maintenance, sample preparation, QA/QC duties, data recording and ensuring safety regulations are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant training helpful.
• Math and science courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sorting and receiving specimens in the department.
• Performs routine instrument maintenance on some equipment.
• Centrifuging specimens, printing labels, recording data (temperature charts), specimen storage and retrieval.
• Preparing reagents and/or media in the department.
• Preparing specimens at workstations for testing, including building worklists, aliquoting specimens into sample cups, checking for clots and fibrin, inoculation, slide preparation.
• Performs QA/QC duties as assigned.
• Finds missing samples.
• Decontaminates work areas.
• Performs weekly radioactive wipe tests.
• Follows all PPE requirements and all safety regulations.
• Uses the laboratory computer system and operates PCs.
• Disposes of biohazardous material.
• Completes training and competency checklists.

Duration: 03 months Contract/ Likely to convert to FT based on performance

Shift: M-F 7:00PM-3:30AM

Payrate: $20.60/hr. on W2/*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications
