Job summary

Northwest Medical Center Houghton in Tucson is seeking a licensed inpatient pharmacist for a 13-week overnight assignment. You will dispense medications, collaborate with physicians on dosing, and provide patient education during a full-night shift (8:00 PM to 7:00 AM).

Requirements include BLS/ACLS certifications, at least 2 years inpatient experience, and Cerner EMR familiarity. This contract offers 7-on/7-off scheduling with holidays required and undefined block scheduling.

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient hospital pharmacist experience.
• Cerner EMR experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently.
• Board certification or pharmacy residency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely dispense and manage pharmaceutical medications.
• Collaborate with physicians regarding medication dosing and therapy.
• Provide medication education to patients and healthcare staff.
• Perform sterile IV compounding and admixture preparation.
• Monitor patient medication profiles and adverse drug reactions.
• Maintain narcotic accountability and medication safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with DEA, Joint Commission, and hospital policies.
