Job summary

Home Work Staffing seeks an experienced, nurturing live-out nanny for a per-diem infant care role in Norwalk, CT. The position involves 6–7 scheduled 24-hour shifts per month, including overnight care, with the baby attending daycare 8:00 AM–1:00 PM and drop-off/pick-up during shifts.

Compensation ranges from $30–$35/hour; benefits include advance schedule, meals and groceries during shifts, and payroll through a professional service.

Qualifications

• Prior professional infant and newborn experience
• Knowledge of newborn care, feeding and safe sleep practices
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred
• COVID-19, Tdap and flu vaccinations
• Valid driver’s license and your own reliable vehicle
• Live within the tri-state area
• Able to commit to 6–7 scheduled 24-hour shifts per month for at least one year
• Reliable, organized, attentive and comfortable working independently
• 3–5 professional references, including previous infant-care positions

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, loving and developmentally appropriate care for the infant
• Manage all aspects of newborn care, including feeding, diaper changes, bathing and soothing
• Follow the family’s preferred routines and instructions
• Track the infant’s feeding, sleep and developmental progress
• Keep the nursery and the baby’s supplies clean and organized
• Support safe sleep practices and keep the environment safe at all times
• Drive the baby to and from daycare in your own vehicle
• Communicate regularly with the parent about the infant’s care and daily routines
• Provide 24-hour coverage during scheduled shifts, including overnight care
