Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking an overnight Histotechnologist to support our Immunohistochemistry team. The role covers specimen prep, technical testing, quality control, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, validation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include sectioning tissues, performing IHC, documenting QC activities, and maintaining records while collaborating with supervisors, pathologists, and colleagues to ensure quality and timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license or eligibility, or Histotechnologist license preferred.
• Prior Histology and/or Immunohistochemistry experience requested.

Responsibilities

• Section paraffin tissue specimens and perform IHC techniques including embedding, microtomy, processing, staining, and review.
• Maintain quality control activities and document results per procedures.
• Assist with instrument maintenance, setup, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Analyze and resolve equipment, staining, reagent, and workflow issues promptly.
• Support validation and optimization of antibodies and lot-to-lot validation.
• Keep thorough quality records and ensure regulatory compliance.
