Animal Emergency & Specialty Center - Knoxville is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or highly skilled Veterinary Assistant to grow in a fast-paced specialty and emergency environment. The role emphasizes ICU/ER duties, anesthesia, monitoring, and collaboration with board-certified specialists.

This overnight ICU/ER position offers growth across departments, with opportunity to work in emergency, critical care, and specialty services within Innovetive Petcare.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of veterinary hospital experience
• Advanced technical skills in anesthesia, emergency procedures, and patient monitoring
• Comfortable working independently on overnight shifts
• Strong communication skills and a calm, confident presence in high-pressure situations
• Physically able to lift, restrain, and stand for extended periods
• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, CVT)

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight monitoring and management of ICU and critical care patients
• Perform advanced procedures including IV catheter placement; blood collection and transfusions; radiographs; anesthesia induction and monitoring
• Assist with emergency stabilization, triage, and urgent interventions
• Support diagnostics such as ultrasound, endoscopy, and advanced lab testing
• Deliver post-procedure and critical care monitoring and owner communication
