NYU Langone Health System seeks a dedicated Nighttime Intensivist to join the Department of Medicine at Long Island Community Hospital. The nighttime intensivist will oversee and manage critically ill patients admitted to the ICU during overnight shifts, ensuring continuity of high-quality care.

The role emphasizes supervision of residents and APPs, bedside teaching, and collaboration with the daytime ICU team to ensure smooth handoffs. The hospital emphasizes safety and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with CCM board cert/eligibility.
• Unrestricted NY medical license to practice.
• Proficient in critical care procedures and complex case management.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct ICU care for critically ill patients during overnight shifts.
• Perform bedside procedures (intubation, central lines, thoracentesis, paracentesis, arterial lines).
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with daytime ICU team for handoffs.
• Supervise residents and APPs, providing bedside teaching and guidance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate with families.
• Ensure compliance with ICU policies and participate in quality improvement.
