Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts in Minneapolis is seeking a Maintenance Technician to cover 11pm–7am shifts, four overnight shifts per week, ensuring all building systems and safety standards are maintained. You'll perform preventative maintenance, check HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and minor repairs, service the pool, refurbish guest rooms, and respond to guest questions with courteous professionalism.

Qualifications

• Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in building related trades required in 1 or more of the following areas: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Carpentry.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Climbing, reading, standing, walking, and routinely lifting 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication to different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building systems and envelope to ensure safety of guests, associates, and vendors.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete work orders (ceiling tiles, light bulbs, vinyl patching).
• Run scheduled preventive maintenance on room care and electrical systems; minor repairs as needed.
• Inspect and repair hotel equipment including HVAC, appliances, pool, plumbing, and fixtures.
• Service the pool, adjust chemicals, and clean filters; maintain logs.
• Maintain exterior curb appeal and perform furniture refurbishing in guest rooms.
• Move furniture and fixtures; respond courteously to guest questions and requests.
