Job summary

Hyatt Regency Minneapolis is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our Engineering team. This role covers 2nd and 3rd shifts and will ensure safe operation of hotel facilities, respond to maintenance requests, and perform preventative maintenance.

You will work with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, coordinate with vendors, and support renovations while upholding safety standards. Prior hospitality or large-building experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance, facilities, or hotel maintenance experience.
• Technical or vocational training in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in hospitality or multi-unit facilities is desirable.
• Proficient in using maintenance tools, equipment, and computerized work-order systems.
• Shift availability: 2nd shift and overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of hotel facilities and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building-related issues.
• Complete preventive maintenance for guest rooms, public spaces, and equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, lighting fixtures, appliances, furniture, walls, ceilings, and fixtures.
• Monitor and maintain boilers, chillers, water systems, generators, and other equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and projects.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and local building codes.
• Assist with renovations, room upgrades, and capital improvements.
• Participate in emergency response procedures and on-call maintenance.
• Maintain clean and organized maintenance work areas.

This position will split between 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift (overnight) . 2nd Shift is primarily 3PM - 11:30PM and 3rd Shift is primarily 11PM - 7:30AM. Shift Differential applies for overnight shift.

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for shift coverage including maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the safe operation of hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems. This position performs preventative maintenance and responds to guest room, public area, and back‑of‑house maintenance requests to provide a safe, comfortable, and exceptional guest experience. The Hotel Maintenance Mechanic works with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building systems while adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of hotel facilities and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building‑related issues.
• Complete preventive maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, and operational equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, lighting fixtures, appliances, furniture, walls, ceilings, flooring, and fixtures.
• Monitor and maintain boilers, chillers, water systems, generators, fire life‑safety systems, and other building equipment.
• Maintain swimming pool and related equipment in compliance with health regulations, if applicable.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential safety hazards and maintenance concerns.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and preventive maintenance records.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and projects.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, local building codes, fire regulations, and company safety standards.
• Assist with hotel renovations, room upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
• Participate in emergency response procedures and on‑call maintenance support as required.
• Maintain clean and organized maintenance work areas, tools, and equipment.

The pay range for this this position is $30.00/hr - $40.00. This is the pay range for this position at Hyatt Regency Minneapolis reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including experience and education.
