Job summary

Valor is seeking a Hotel Maintenance Engineer to respond to service calls and keep hotel equipment in safe, efficient condition. You will handle preventive maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems, ensuring a clean and well-maintained engineering space for guest comfort.

You will monitor water systems, manage boiler/chiller operations, and respond to emergencies with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry skills.
• Ability to communicate information clearly to management, staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests in a courteous, efficient and safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment (kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, guest rooms).
• Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and maintain chemical levels.
• Operate equipment and monitor hot/cold water systems and electrical switch gears.
• Maintain cleanliness of engineering spaces and perform daily maintenance tasks.
• Make rounds to ensure systems are working and take meter readings.
• Complete maintenance requests and notify next shift of status.
• Respond to emergencies (alarms, threats, power failures) as required.
• Operate boiler/chiller and maintain building temperatures.
• Assist with parking lot maintenance and snow removal as needed.
• Undertake special projects and other assigned duties.
