Job summary

The Grand Beach Hotel Miami Beach is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to safeguard guests, employees, and property. Responsibilities include controlling access at employee entrances, inspecting packages, logging visitor activity, and maintaining security records to ensure a safe environment.

You will patrol various hotel areas, enforce policies, respond to incidents, assist guests, and support emergency procedures while upholding professional standards and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent observation, communication, guest service and report writing skills.
• Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Previous experience working in customer service.
• Previous experience working in hospitality housekeeping services.
• Previous guest relations training.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly understands all Hotel Emergency Response Procedures and can respond appropriately to all situations.
• Monitors/controls access to all facility employee entrances and ensures only authorized individuals enter.
• Maintains a visitor sign-in/out log and issues temporary passes to visitors/vendors.
• Inspects all packages entering and exiting through facility employee entrances and handles unauthorized materials.
• Verifies that materials leaving the facility are accompanied by a signed package removal pass and reports improperly authorized items.
• Maintains signature lists of management personnel authorized to sign removal passes.
• Patrols front of house, back of house and exterior areas and reports hazards or suspicious activity.
• Documents security-related issues in appropriate security reports.
• Logs, stores and returns lost and found items per hotel policy.
• Enforces hotel rules/regulations according to Employee Manual and policy.
• Monitors compliance to hotel key control policies by all employees.
• Interacts with guests in a courteous and professional manner.
• Responds to incidents, gathers information and preserves evidence when needed.
• Completes daily reports following the Safety Security Manual.
• May operate departmental vehicles and transport equipment as required.
• Assists in obtaining materials from Storeroom during non-operating hours.
• Documents storeroom entries and ensures proper requisition for items removed.
• Assists others with Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control policies.
• Answers department phone lines promptly and courteously per Loews Hotels standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
