Job summary

Cascada Spa & Hotel in Portland, Oregon seeks a Maintenance Technician to uphold our high standards of guest safety and facility appearance. You will perform preventive maintenance, handle work orders, and maintain systems and equipment.

The ideal candidate has HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and work overnight including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in maintenance is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair techniques.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and perform repairs efficiently.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to obtain your CPO (Certified Pool Operator) within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to work an overnight schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, plumbing, electrical repairs, HVAC maintenance, and carpentry work.
• Conduct inspections of hotel facilities to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
• Respond to guest maintenance requests and resolve issues in a prompt, courteous manner.
• Perform daily safety checks and maintenance of six bodies of water used for guest bathing, ensuring water quality and safety compliance, CPO.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems according to established schedules.
• Complete work orders and documentation accurately and promptly.
• Model professional appearance, carriage, and demeanor at all times.
• Assist in setup and breakdown of events and meetings as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to support maintenance needs and operations.
