Position Summary

The Night Auditor oversees and coordinates all night-time front desk and audit functions, executes computer maintenance requirements, and ensures all financial transactions for the day are verified and balanced.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and distribute daily reports.
  2. Accurately prepare VIP, complimentary, house use rooms, and out-of-order lists.
  3. Conduct backup procedures for Opera and nightly drop tape.
  4. Handle Express checkouts ensuring their completion.
  5. Complete the third shift Night Audit checklist.
  6. Balance daily postings and revenue.
  7. Communicate effectively with all departments through “Wrap-Up” emails.
  8. Assist in resolving front office deficiencies and document errors in cash handling.
  9. Prepare and send the Daily Audit Report (DAR).
  10. Ensure nightly transmission of credit card transactions through Opera.
  11. Be familiar with check-in/check-out procedures, policies, and all relevant systems (Opera, GoConcierge, Synergy, SALTO, radios, fire panel).
  12. Understand hotel rate plans, amenities, facilities, and local attractions.
  13. Follow safety, security, and confidentiality policies.
  14. Engage actively with guests, providing personalized service and exceeding expectations.

Qualifications

  1. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  2. Strong communication, computer, and organizational skills.
  3. Prior guest service experience, preferably in a hotel front office.
  4. Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  5. Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
