Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations in an overnight hub. You’ll plan schedules, assign workloads, and ensure on-time, damage-free delivery while enforcing safety and company policies.

The role requires 2 years in warehouse or related fields, knowledge of LTL, DOT rules, and flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Competitive benefits include health, life, 401(k), PTO, and an incentive plan.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of the LTL industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules.
• Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet department needs.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff and be the primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll and admin functions.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet daily operations and reduce costs.
• Enforce FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws.
• Ensure timely, damage-free customer freight handling and delivery.
• Coach and develop employees and handle evaluations and corrective actions.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals.
