Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks a Medical Examiner Assistant I for the Westfield location. This evening, full-time role supports the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner with autopsy-related duties, specimen handling, and documentation.

Requirements include an Associate's degree or related certification, a valid driver's license, immunizations, and the ability to pass medical evaluation and respirator fit testing. The position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and collaboration with agencies.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Certification from a technical school in a science or medical field.
• Valid Motor Vehicle License at a class level specific to assignment.
• Standard immunizations.
• Must pass a medical evaluation and fit test to wear a respirator.

Responsabilités

• Assist in the forensic autopsy and in all aspects of autopsy services.
• Assist in preparation and evisceration of the bodies.
• Assist in collection of tissue and toxicology samples.
• Responsible for labeling, entering specimens and evidentiary information into computer systems.
• Operate autopsy and mortuary equipment and ensure daily cleaning and disinfection of the autopsy suite and instruments.
• Dispatching and responding to scenes and medical facilities; move and position remains as needed.
• Interact with private and public entities; perform other duties as assigned.
