Fleet Maintenance Supervisor - Brooklyn

Position Summary

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor supervises technicians and welders to maintain equipment and fleet in peak condition, under the guidance of the Fleet Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities include directing repair and maintenance work, overseeing preventative maintenance, managing parts procurement, inventory, asset tracking, and controlling costs. The supervisor uses fleet management software to monitor vehicle performance and costs.

Monday-Friday, 5pm - 2am (subject to change based on operational needs)

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise technicians, lead technicians, and perform daily shop operations ensuring safety, efficiency, and timeliness.
• Report on performance and recommend process improvements.
• Conduct employee training, performance evaluations, and make hiring/termination decisions in collaboration with HR.
• Inspect outside repairs for quality and compliance with safety and regulations.
• Identify training needs and discuss corrective actions with technicians.
• Perform quality control inspections and oversee diagnostic repairs, including road tests.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of vehicle systems for diagnostics and repairs.
• Manage administrative tasks such as payroll, records, and maintenance documentation using TMT software.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as a supervisor or team lead.
• Experience with electrical systems, air brakes, medium and heavy-duty diesel engines, and diagnostics tools (e.g., CAT ET, Cummins Insite).
• Strong communication skills; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Experience with fleet management and onboard software.
• Knowledge of DOT CMV rules, OSHA, and related regulations.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
