Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Monterey, CA seeks a knowledgeable Veterinary Assistant/Technician for an overnight position in a fast-paced emergency department. Prior anesthesia experience preferred but not required to be licensed. Pay ranges from $24 to $36 per hour, with night and weekend shift differentials.

Schedule is Sunday–Wednesday, 8pm–6:30am, full-time. Candidates will triage emergencies, assist DVM, and handle diagnostics and client communication.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of anesthesia and monitoring equipment.
• Experience triaging emergency cases in a veterinary setting.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team.
• Strong communication with clients and DVMs.

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency cases as they arrive and assist the DVM with assessment and plans.
• Perform diagnostics (radiographs, lab work, etc).
• Set patients up in ICU or inpatient wards and discharge patients.
• Handle client communication and follow-up instructions.
