The role supports board‑certified clinicians across departments, performs venipuncture, IV catheterization, anesthesia monitoring, and rapid interventions. Excellent teamwork, ownership, and a calm approach during emergencies are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of nursing experience in a veterinary setting, ER/Urgent Care/Specialty preferred.
• Skilled in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, drug calculations, and other technical skills.
• Strong medical math skills and accurate calculations in critical moments.
• Attention to detail; thorough, precise work, especially in emergencies.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
• Full-time schedule (36+ hours per week) required.

Responsibilities

• Emergency & Critical Care Nursing: venipuncture, IV placement, medication administration in high-pressure situations.
• Patient Interventions & CPR: monitor for cardiac/respiratory risk and initiate CPR as needed.
• Patient Monitoring/Record Keeping: assess patients and communicate with owners about history.
• Diagnostics: radiology, sample handling, in-house lab tests.
• Anesthesia Monitoring/Surgical Assistance: document anesthetic procedures and assist surgery.
• Collaboration: coordinate anesthesia protocols with other teams and communicate status.
• Patient Advocacy: ensure patient welfare from arrival to discharge.
