Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists - Mansfield seeks an Emergency Veterinary Technician to provide hands-on care for critically ill and injured patients overnight. You will support veterinarians, monitor anesthesia, assist in surgeries, and deliver high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced ER setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of emergency veterinary technician experience.
• ECC/CVT/LVT/RVT credentials encouraged.
• Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting skills.
• Experience with post-operative and emergency patient care.
• Ability to assess patient condition and respond in fast-paced situations.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians during emergency exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with emergency surgeries and post-operative care.
• Provide emergency nursing care and first aid to injured or recovering patients.
• Prepare patients and surgical instruments for procedures.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs (BP, ECG, SpO₂, EtCO₂).
• Collect lab samples and perform in-house diagnostics.
• Operate digital radiography and advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Accurately document patient histories and medical records.
• Maintain clean, sterile, and organized treatment, exam, and lab areas.
• Mentor and support fellow technicians and assistants.
