Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists - Mansfield is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician for overnight shifts in Mansfield, TX. You will provide hands-on care to critical patients, assisting veterinarians and supporting the team in a high-stakes emergency setting with access to advanced diagnostics.
Ideal candidates have 1+ years in emergency veterinary work and anesthesia/surgical skills, with ECC/CVT/LVT/RVT credentials encouraged.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1+ years of emergency veterinary technician
- ECC/CVT/LVT/RVT credentials encouraged
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting skills
- Experience with post-operative and emergency patient care
- Ability to assess patient condition and respond in fast-paced situations
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians during emergency exams, treatments and procedures
- Monitor anesthesia and assist with emergency surgeries and post-operative care
- Provide emergency nursing care and first aid to injured or recovering patients
- Prepare patients and surgical instruments for procedures
- Monitor and interpret vital signs (BP, ECG, SpO2, EtCO2)
- Collect lab samples and perform in-house diagnostics
- Operate digital radiography and advanced diagnostic equipment
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Document patient histories and medical records
- Maintain clean, sterile, and organized treatment, exam, and lab areas
- Mentor and support fellow technicians and assistants
