Job summary

MultiCare Health System's Deaconess Hospital in Spokane is seeking an Overnight Social Worker for the Emergency Department. This role focuses on cross-continuum care coordination, psychosocial assessments, and interventions in a fast-paced hospital ER setting.

You will conduct mental health assessments, coordinate with Crisis Responders, and support patients and families through discharge planning, with supervision to achieve LICSW licensure.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work.
• Licensed in the state of Washington.
• LICSW or LSWAIC with commitment to obtain LICSW within four years.
• Minimum three years hospital or equivalent experience.
• Health industry knowledge preferred.
• Leadership experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health, suicide risk, and substance use assessments in a dynamic ER setting.
• Collaborate with Crisis Responders, psychiatric facilities, detox centers, and homeless shelters to ensure safe discharges for patients.
• Provide resources and emotional support to patients and families during traumatic situations.
• Problem-solve complex discharge plans and connect patients to community resources.
