Job summary

Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center - Greenwood is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for full-time overnight ER/ICU coverage. You will work with veterinarians, technicians, and staff to deliver high-quality patient care and client service. The role emphasizes ongoing training and clear expectations to help you grow professionally.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience (preferred) - time spent in a formal veterinary nursing/technician program will also be considered.
• Emergency, ICU, GP experience (preferred)
• Experience in the following skills: Venipuncture, Restraint, IV Catheter Placement, Assessing Vitals, Medical Record Notation, Intubation/Extubation, Monitoring Under Anesthesia, Minor Drug Calculations, Dentistry, Radiographs, post-surgical care, Fecal flotation and interpreting results

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and credentialed technicians to provide high-level patient care and outstanding client service.
• Participate in care from exam room to surgery suite, radiology, ICU ward, and boarding kennel.
• Engage in structured, ongoing training and professional development with clear expectations from the team.
• Contribute to compassionate nursing care and effective communication with clients and pets' families
