Skylos Sports Medicine, part of BluePearl Veterinary Partners, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for an overnight 13-hour shift from 6pm to 7am on Mondays. You will provide nursing care and assist with anesthesia and monitoring.

Skylos Sports Medicine, a BluePearl Veterinary Partner, is looking for a highly motivated and team-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

**This role is one overnight shift, consisting of 13 hours, from 6pm to 7am on Monday evenings. **

Pay: $20.30 - $25.00 / hour

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00/hr. Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00/hr. Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50/hr. Shift Differential

Founded by Drs. Peter and Faith Lotsikas, Skylos Sports Medicine, is an orthopedic and rehabilitation specialty practice that provides a unique concierge level of care for patients and their guardians in Ellicott City and Frederick, Maryland.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will:

• Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.
• Understand classification of commonly-used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Perform phlebotomy.
• Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Possess a working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment and assist with patients assigned ASA I or II classifications.
• Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrates proficiency in designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor.
