Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Framingham, MA is seeking a skilled and compassionate part-time Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team. You will work on the Overnight Emergency team providing anesthesia monitoring, triage, radiography, and patient care in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate embraces high-quality pet care, has experience with anesthesia and vital signs monitoring, and can mentor colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience with anesthesia monitoring in a clinical setting.
• Ability to triage emergencies and monitor vitals at a glance.
• Proficiency with radiography and interpretation of basic patient data.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients using monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and obtain vitals such as temperature, heart rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.
• Monitor normal ranges of vital signs and alert veterinarians to changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR when needed.
• Calculate medical dosages and administer medications correctly.
• Place intravenous catheters and perform phlebotomy.
• Assist with feeding tube and central line placement as required.
• Mentor and train other team members.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
