Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a veterinary technician in a hospital.
• Registered veterinary technician preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and team members with efficiency and professionalism.
• Safely restrain animals using low-stress handling.
• Collaborate with coworkers across the hospital.
• Provide nursing care to hospitalized and outpatients.
• Operate in-house laboratory equipment accurately.
• Take digital radiographs safely and effectively.
• Calculate medication dosages accurately.
• Administer medications via prescribed routes (PO, SC, IM, IV).
• Demonstrate proficiency with venous and urinary catheter placement.
• Develop advanced emergency nursing skills.
• Maintain proficiency across a wide range of emergency scenarios.
• Deliver compassionate client communication and patient care.
• Prepare and monitor patients for sedated/anesthetic procedures.
