Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and other staff members.
• Restrain animals using stress-free handling techniques.
• Provide nursing care to hospitalized and outpatients.
• Operate in-house lab equipment and provide accurate results.
• Take digital radiographs and calculate drug dosages.
• Administer medications via PO, SC, IM, IV and manage catheters.
• Prep patients for sedated procedures and monitor anesthesia.

Who are we looking for?

Please have a positive personality, be capable of effective communication, enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment, multi-task like a pro, and have a well-rounded skill set and solid knowledge base. As we are a 24-hour emergency hospital please be willing to work outside of the boring 9am-5pm weekday schedule. We prefer someone with at least one year of experience working as a technician in a veterinary hospital. Registered Veterinary Technician preferred but not required.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting Veterinarians and other staff members
• Restraining animals safely using stress-free handling techniques
• Working collaboratively and positively with all coworkers
• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients
• Successfully use all in house laboratory equipment to provide accurate results
• Safely and effectively take digital radiographs
• Be able to calculate drug dosages
• Giving medications via all prescribed routes: PO, SC, IM, IV
• Proficiency with catheterization (venous, urinary)
• Possess or develop advanced emergency skills
• Comfortable with all aspects of emergency medicine
• Effectively care for and communicate with clients
• Prepare and monitor patients for sedated and anesthetic procedures, including setup, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery care.
