Job summary

Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) in Webster, TX seeks an Overnight Emergency & ICU Veterinary Technician. Licensed techs with 2+ years’ experience provide life‑saving care, support doctors, perform anesthetic and radiographic tasks, and manage critical patients in emergencies.

You will join a fast-paced team, participate in rounds and ongoing training, and contribute to compassionate pet care with a collaborative hospital culture.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technicians with at least 2 years of experience.
• Prior experience in Emergency and Critical Care is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and make informed decisions in fast-paced situations.
• Fluent English (speaking & reading) required; multilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to hospitalized and emergency patients.
• Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Perform technical tasks: restraint, venipuncture, catheter placement, radiographs, lab work, medications.
• Prepare and administer treatments per orders and protocols.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Respond to STAT calls and follow emergency protocols.
• Create treatment estimates, discuss plans with clients, process payments, manage admissions/discharges.
• Communicate with clients professionally and empathetically.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
• Support hospital cleanliness, safety, and inventory management.
